PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent coating particles from flying out of a flow of shaping air and to improve coating efficiency by setting respectively the number of rotation of a spray head and the content of non-volatile components of a coating in a specified range when the coating is applied by electrostatic coating by means of a coating gun provided with the spray head. SOLUTION: A spray head 2 is rotated by means of an air motor in a spray gun 1 and an outer cylinder 8 for forming an air flow path 7 is formed on the outer peripheral side of an inner cylinder 6 for holding the rotational shaft 3 of the air motor. A barrier member 10 is formed inside the spray head 2 and a coating feeding room 11 is formed on the back side thereof. In addition, a non-rotational coating feeding pipe 14 is inserted in the rotational shaft 3 and the apex is opened in the coating feeding room 11. When electrostatic coating is performed by using a coating for top clear coating with a non-volatile component of 55-60% after coating, the number of rotation of the spray head 2 is set in a range of 30,000-35,000rpm and the peripheral speed on the apex edge part on the inner peripheral face of the spray head 2 is set at 78.5-91.9m/sec.
